The Interdisciplinary Committee on Ethics in Human Research (ICEHR) provides ethics review of research involving human participants conducted by faculty, students, and staff at Memorial University’s St. John’s campus. ICEHR is also approved by the provincial Health Research Ethics Authority (HREA) to review non-clinical and non-genetics health research conducted by MUN researchers.
The ICEHR receives proposals for research in the social and behavioural sciences, and humanities, including some health-related research in these areas. Proposals are primarily from researchers in the Faculties of Humanities and Social Sciences, Business Administration, Education, and Science; and the Schools of Human Kinetics and Recreation, Music, and Social Work.
