Institutional Animal Care Committee (IACC) – Dates

Important Dates for 2024/2025

The IACC meets on a monthly bases to review protocols for ethical merit, evaluate post-approval exchange with investigators, and advance the policies and Standard Operating Procedures surrounding the use of animals in researching and teaching throughout Memorial University programs and those of its affiliates.
Please note, submissions you wish to have reviewed at a scheduled meeting should be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to the meeting.

CCAC online certification

Memorial has a self-registration link to the certification program through the D2L portal https://citl.mun.ca/learning/AnimalCareForm_699.php

Students can register and then log into Animal Care Online Training through D2L (https://online.mun.ca/) to complete the Core and Animals Held in Vivaria quizzes using training materials directly from the Canadian Council on Animal Care (CCAC) website https://www.ccac.ca/en/training/modules/core-stream/

Please note: the CCAC has recently restructured their program and dropped modules. We are still working to update our material to match the new content. Please ignore any quiz that does not match to the 3 current CCAC Core Modules and 7 Animals Held in Vivaria Modules.
